Google just dropped a massive batch of AI updates in June 2026, and if you blinked, you might have missed the full picture. The company announced a new flagship model, Gemini 3 Ultra, which reportedly achieves state-of-the-art performance on reasoning and multimodal tasks. But that’s not all—Google also rolled out Vertex AI Agent Builder for enterprises, making it trivial to create custom agents without deep ML expertise.
Other notable updates include expanded on-device AI for Pixel devices (now running Gemini Nano natively), a new tool for synthetic data generation in AI training, and updated safety protocols for generative AI. The blog post also highlighted partnerships with healthcare and education sectors, signaling Google’s intent to embed AI into critical infrastructure.
The announcements also included a preview of Project Mariner for Workspace, which autonomously handles complex spreadsheet and email tasks. While still in alpha, it hints at a future where AI is your co-worker, not just your assistant.
